Vonage To Turn 911 ON by Default

Vonage CEO Jeff Citron said in the linked interview that, from now on, 911 call routing won’t have to be activated by new customers, like it is now. Instead, customers will be able to “opt out” of the optional service. Of course, next Thursday, the FCC may require VoIP providers to route 911 calls, but reality says it’s impossible to get them all to do it—-certainly not by May 19, and perhaps never.
