Skype Replacing IM? No, Skype IS IM

I like the B. Mann article entitled “Skype killing IM networks, too?” (link below). Particularly, the author’s idea that Skype is beginning to convert users of other messaging networks like AIM and Yahoo. Mann says its because of Skype’s voice capability that folks are switching, but this really isn’t anything new to Skype. AIM and Yahoo Messenger have both had voice for years, and Skype has had text IM for years. So what’s different about Skype that’s making people leave the IM old school? Read the story to find out.
